2022 Wedding Makeup and Hair Trends

Makeup and hair are an essential part of your wedding day. You want to feel beautiful, yet like yourself. There are sooo many different styles and looks to choose from- try browsing Pinterest for wedding hair and makeup and it can get a bit overwhelming. Let's breakdown some of our favorite looks and styles that are trending for the current and upcoming wedding season!

Natural Dewy "No Makeup" Makeup

For our brides that typically wear minimal makeup, this ones for you! When we think "no makeup" makeup, we think fresh faced skin and bright eyes. Even though this look is called natural, it is still a full face of makeup to ensure it lasts all night and photographs beautifully.

The main focus of this type of application is the skin.

Skin is prepped thoroughly before makeup application with moisturizing creams, serums, and primers. Light weight foundation that melts into the skin, gives coverage, but feels like you're wearing nothing. Finish off the face with a cream blush, illuminator, and bronzer combo that makes you look like you just got back from a beach vacay.

The eyes are kept bright with gold, champagne, and pinky tones with touches of shimmer. Brown smudged liner to keep it soft and a natural light lash to tie it all together. Fluff up the brows and add a peach or pinky nude lip and call it GORGEOUS.

Wedding Hair Styles We Recommend:

This makeup look is easy to pair with any hair style. A boho braid, half up-half down, or classic smooth bun

Fox Eyes

Fox eyes have been very on trend, thanks to celebrity makeup artist, Patrick Ta. His clients like Gigi and Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, and models alike have been spotted donning this twist on the cat-eye look.

For this wedding makeup, the eyes are the center of attention. Eyeliner is utilized to elongate the eye by having a sharp wing in an upward motion and bringing it to a point in the inner corner. This lifts the eye, perfect for our brides who want that sultry look.

Wedding Hair Styles We Recommend:

Fox eyes pair well with sleek hairstyles like classic smooth buns or a high ponytail.

Old Hollywood Glamour

Still going strong into 2022 and 2023 wedding makeup trends is the classic old Hollywood glam. Inspired by the likes of Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor, just to name a few, this makeup style of makeup is timeless and beautiful.

Wedding makeup in this style tends to stay away from shimmer and illuminating factors, while playing into smooth airbrushed like mattes. Typically this look is paired with simple shadow and a bold winged liner. We often see this look with a bold red lip, but this classic look can easily adapt to any lip color.

Wedding Hair Styles We Recommend:

One of the hottest trends for wedding hair this year goes perfectly with this look- bridal waves. Also known as old Hollywood waves, vintage waves, or retro waves. This style focuses on that cascading "S" shape.

Full Glam

Even though natural makeup is trending in wedding makeup this year, there is still room for our full glam gals. Full glam has been rising up for the past several years thanks to celebrity makeup artists Scott Barnes (J-Lo's MUA) and Mario Dedivanovic (Kim K's MUA).

This wedding makeup focuses on full coverage, honey. Flawless and sculpted looking skin by way of contouring and highlighting. The eye look is typically smokey with either matte shadows or a illuminating shimmer on the eye. Paired with a bold, mink lash and nude glossy lips.

Wedding Hair Styles We Recommend:

This look also works great with most hair styles!

Stay True To Yourself

It's fun to get inspired by wedding hair and makeup trends! But remember- they're just that. At the end of the day, it is about what makes you feel confident! Makeup and hair have no rules and that's why we love beauty so much. What are your favorite looks? Comment below.
